Cattle marketed are never subjected to routine antibiotics or growth hormones and are handled in accordance with the five freedoms These being, freedom from hunger and thirst; freedom from discomfort; freedom from pain, injury or disease; freedom to express normal behaviour; and freedom from fear and distress to always guarantee high quality and healthy meat. At the abattoir stage, it remains important to safeguard the basic requirements such as hygiene systems, quality systems, and the right conditions under which animals are slaughtered and temperature controls, in which the meat is stored to guarantee the premium excellent condition Meatco is renowned for.
